Black America World News Network (BAWN) is an American basic news network and cable television channel that is owned by the One World Transatlantic Global Media. It plans to be the most prominent news network targeting African American and minorities as its core audience. The network plans to reach with approximately 25% of American households (45% of households with television) to receive the channel by 2025. The channels main office is in Chicago has scheduled offices in Washington, D.C., New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Programming on the network to date consists of original digital news content and acquired television series and theatrically and direct-to-video-released documentary films. The network also has plans to air a variety of  news, and current affairs programs. Along with the latter of which now air on its branded sister networks. That list includes: The Owl 18.86 Radio (Smooth Jazz), USR100 Radio (Hip Hop),  One World Today (Social Media Network), The OWL TV.

History

The Network was started by Bishop Gregg L. Greer is a Public Speaker, Minister, American Journalist, Author, Economist and Social Activist. Greer is the Founder of Freedom First International and a prominent national civil rights leader. Greer wanted to set up an alternative Radio/ TV Network to reach the masses.

As a Social and Criminal Justice Commentator and Investigative Journalist-Greer appears on Radio and TV around the country. Greer owns the Independent Radio and TV network One World Media, Which includes-The Owl 1886 Radio Station.

Greer has written extensively about American politics, civil rights, and the intersection of money and politics. His stories have also appeared in The Huffington Post, CNN, and Daily Kos Also, Greer is a frequent commentator on MSNBC online.  Greer writes commentary on Apolitical America, Huffington Post, and others.
